Description: Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is a chelating agent, a material that tightly binds or captures metal ions, produced as a series of salts.
Properties: white crystal powder melting point 240℃(decomposition). Insoluble in cold water, alcohol and general organic solvent, slightly soluble in hot water, but soluble in sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and ammonia solution.
Applications: EDTA Acid and its salts are used for:
a. Pulp and paper production to improve bleaching & preserve brightness.
b. Cleaning products, primarily for de-scaling.
c. Chemical processing; polymer stabilization & oil production.
d. Agriculture in fertilizers.
e. Water treatment to control water hardness and prevent scale.
f. Textiles
